Meditation for Christians - Day 5

Psalm 23 - "...I shall not want."

It is said many times, in many different ways: Happiness is not getting what you want because our desires are endless. Happiness is found in appreciating what you already have.

Matthew 6:25-34

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 7:9-11

Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Exercise for Day 5

Take a moment to thank G-d before using any requisites (eating, drinking, dressing, going to bed, taking medicine). Consider being His agent by discreetly providing a requisite for someone else. (examples - food, water, clothing, shelter, medical/sanitary needs)

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. - Matthew 6:3-4

About The Way

Not a religion... a RELATIONSHIP!

The Way is for followers of Yeshua who seek a closer, more fulfilling relationship with HaShem, the One G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The meaning of the word "Christian" has been hijacked and turned into something our beloved Meshiach would never have approved of. Many reform groups have attempted to return to The Way that Yeshua originally preached, and their success has been equivalent to how dedicated they are staying true to the spirit of the scripture in their doctrines.

Instead of a new doctrine, The Way is about finding out what He wants for each of us individually. Instead of grudging obedience to what other people tell us we are supposed to do, we ask the Father directly. And He Answers!

Why G-d?

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. - Exodus 20:7

Unless directly quoting scripture in a respectful way, many people choose not to utter or write the name of G-d. A common practice is to refer to Him as HaShem ("The Name" in Hebrew). This is not required, and is a personal preference chosen for many reasons. One of those reasons is that words like "G-d", "Christian", and even "Jesus" have been terribly abused and misused.

Much of our modern biblical language comes from Rome or Greece, not the original Hebrew and Aramaic Yeshua himself spoke. To make matters worse Constantine's Roman form of Christianity has seemingly forever tarnished and manipulated our precious Saviour's name and message beyond recognition.

People tolerate it today in subtle forms: the names of days of the week, months of the year, and even resting on SUNdays (the day to remember the sun-god Apollo as decreed by Constantine!). It is tolerated because people got used to it, and change is not easy. For some, this is not a good enough reason to continue with these traditions that clearly are not biblical. For those who do not feel this way, that is between you and HaShem.

...He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone... - John 8:7
